A NEW YEAR

Back to Basics
It's that time of year again.  We will all be setting our New Year's Resolutions to get back in shape, take better care of ourselves, find a "New Look for the New Year", etc.  What a great time of the year to get back to the basics of teaching skin care to your customers.  That is the backbone of our business - our wonderful skin care line!  There will be articles in upcoming online newsletters and lots of training available to you in the next few weeks on how to book classes, tips for holding classes, product information and lots more.  Let's all take the challenge to make sure each and every one of our customers have a skin care routine that is effective for their skin type. 
 
Need some words to say?  How about this script - Make a New Year's resolution to call each of your customers in the month of January and say, "Hi Susie, this is ____________, with Mary Kay.  I just called to wish you a Happy New Year and see if you are getting the results you deserve from your current skin care program?  (Ask her this whether she is using MK skin care or another brand.)"   Now...let's think through her possible responses.
 
1.  She could say, yes she is very happy with her current program.  You answer would be - "Great!  I'm so happy it is working well for you.  I will keep you on my mailing list so you will always receive the latest information from Mary Kay and if anything changes as the weather gets colder, feel free to give me a call!"
 
2.  She could say, no, her current program isn't working - She is too dry now that the weather has changed, or her foundation color is too dark.  Take that opportunity to find out what she is currently using (if you know she's not using MK), and tell her about our products for her skin type.  Be sure to mention our new extra hydration moisturizers.  These are selling like hotcakes!!!  I sold 4 just two days before Christmas!  You can read all about them in the latest Applause.  If your customer is not satisfied with her current skin care program, she will be much more willing to book an appointment with YOU!  So, take this opportunity to set a date with her.  She deserves to see what MK has to offer her.  Book the appointment time and then ask her if she has any friends or family members she would like to share her appointment time with.  Remind her that it is a wonderful way to get some of HER products free or at a discount.
